To register as a distance education user, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Important: <\/strong>Local users who will be at a remote location for an extended period of time (excluding breaks), can register for delivery services. Please contact Interlibrary Services at <a href=\"mailto:ils@utk.edu\">ils@utk.edu<\/a>&nbsp;or (865)-974-4240, to request a status change.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For all others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/old.lib.utk.edu\/sharing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resource Sharing<\/a> (formerly called Interlibrary Loan Services) website.<\/li><li>Enter your NetID and password to enter the ILLiad system.<\/li><li>Provide your personal information.<\/li><li>Choose the status that includes Distance Education in parentheses. If you do not qualify for this service, we will let you know.<\/li><li>Choose YES for Electronic Delivery.<\/li><li>Next, choose Distance Ed Delivery for both Preferred Paper Copy and Loan Delivery methods.<\/li><li>Do not use a PO box for your address as items are delivered via FedEX and a signature is required.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Delivery of Books and Articles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Journal articles will be delivered electronically through the ILLiad system whenever possible. Books and other materials will be sent via FedEx. We will include a FedEx prepaid label to ship the material back to us.&nbsp; Borrowers are responsible for lost\/damaged materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Off-Campus Access to Virtual Library Resources<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Accessing our online resources is almost the same whether you are on and off-campus! Go through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/lib.utk.edu\/\">UT Libraries&#8217; Website<\/a>&nbsp;and search for resources on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/utk.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?vid=01UTN_KNOXVILLE:01UTK&amp;lang=en\">OneSearch<\/a>. If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to log on with your UT NetID and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access to UT Libraries subscriptions is restricted to current Faculty, Staff, and Students.
