\"Leah<\/a>Novelist Leah Stewart<\/a> will read from her work at the University of Tennessee on Monday, September 19, 2016. The event is part of the university\u2019s Writers in the Library reading series. The public is invited to this free reading at 7 p.m. in the Lindsay Young Auditorium of UT\u2019s John C. Hodges Library.<\/p>\n

\"LeahStewart\"<\/a>Stewart\u00a0is the author of five novels, most recently\u00a0The New Neighbor<\/em>, a darkly sophisticated novel about an old woman\u2019s curiosity turned into a dangerous obsession as she becomes involved in her new neighbor\u2019s complicated and cloaked life. The New York Times Book Review<\/em> says of The New Neighbor<\/em>, \u201cStewart never relaxes her tight focus on these complex characters.\u201d People Magazine<\/em> calls it \u201ca chilling page-turner.\u201d <\/p>\n

Stewart\u2019s sixth novel,\u00a0What You Don\u2019t Know About Charlie Outlaw<\/em>, is forthcoming from Putnam. <\/p>\n

Stewart is professor and area director of creative writing in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Cincinnati. She has held visiting writer positions at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee; Vanderbilt University; and Murray State University in Kentucky. In 2010, she was the recipient of an NEA Literature Fellowship and in 2014 the recipient of a Sachs Fund Prize.<\/p>\n
