Users can checkout books at the Meescan kiosk or from their mobile devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-checkout is available only at Hodges Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Using the Kiosk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Bring your books to the Meescan Kiosk, just outside the Medbery Makerspace (209 Hodges Library).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Pull up your library account<\/strong>. Use the kiosk screen to scan the barcode on the back of your VolCard ID (if you have a plastic ID card). If you have a digital VolCard, use the contactless reader to pull up your account using your smartphone, AppleWatch, or VolCard (if it has the contactless chip).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Checkout the book<\/strong>. The app name is: UTLib-Checkout.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Apps are available for:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/UTLib-Checkout\/id6502358432?mt=8\">iOS<\/a><br><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=ca.bintec.meescan.c84061126\">Android<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>After downloading the app, <strong>login with your UT NetID and Password<\/strong> through the campus <a href=\"https:\/\/oit.utk.edu\/accounts\/authentication-protocols\/\">Single Sign-On CAS<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Use your camera to scan the barcode of the item<\/strong> you want to check out.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Using an app on your mobile device, you can check out books from anywhere in the stacks. But you\u2019ll still need to stop by the Meescan Kiosk (outside 209 Hodges Library) to desensitize the book.
