According to Allen and Smith, in their article in Animal Welfare, 2005, volume 14, pages 347-359,
\n“A search of the AltWeb site should be considered mandatory when seeking information on the Three Rs.”<\/p>\n

\n“Alternatives to Animal Testing on the Web (AltWeb) is an international project that was launched in 1997. AltWeb has contributed greatly to the dissemination of information on existing databases via the internet. In addition to acting as a clearinghouse of information and news on the Three Rs, it has initiated the development of new resources, such as the Pain Management database (see above). altWeb has also created a ‘Humane Endpoints’ database in collaboration with FRAME in Nottingham, England. This database is designed to aid investigators in implementing the earliest possible endpoint that is compatible with their research goals, to reduce pain and distress in animals.
