\"Holly\"<\/a>Associate Dean of Libraries Holly Mercer will participate in the 2016-2017 Leadership Fellows program<\/a> sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL). Mercer is associate dean for research and scholarly communication and director of Newfound Press at UT. She is one of 28 fellows selected from a highly competitive pool of university professionals from the US and Canada.<\/p>\n

The executive leadership program facilitates the development of future senior-level leaders in large research libraries and archives. The program enhances the preparedness of library professionals who have the desire and potential for leadership at ARL libraries. During the course of the program, each fellow will construct a learning plan; engage in a customized, immersive experience to shadow a library director; participate in three weeklong institutes hosted by sponsoring ARL institutions; participate in online synchronous sessions; and attend semiannual ARL meetings.<\/p>\n
